Fall 2022:

EMPACTS Project, Fall 2019:
As part of a larger effort to improve habitat for Pollinators, NWACC partnered with the Arkansas Monarch and Pollinator Conservation Partnership, and Arkansas Audubon to create a companion video sowing the media required, and the process of stratification, and germination of native Milkweed plants. The types of milkweed that this video is intended for are Asclepias tuberosa, or Butterfly Milkweed, and Asclepias incarnata, or Swamp Milkweed. NWACC students enrolled in Environmental Biology produced the video and used a manual for the stratification and germination of these species, written by Lab Coordinator Laurie Scott, as a guide.

This manual and video were disseminated to 12 K-12 schools in the state of Arkansas as part of a schoolhouse pilot program sponsored by U. S. Fish and Wildlife.
