Honors Geology

Adult Learners engage in skill building, curriculum-based projects throughout the semester to build peer collaboration, technology, research, and communication skills. They apply course content as they use technology to communicate what they have learned about geology and the world around them.

Earthquakes of History:
Students in the Spring 2021 course selected earthquakes of history as their capstone project. The focus of their project is to begin an interactive learning and teaching tool for geology classes, K-College. The hope is that future honors courses will have this project as a choice for update for their final project.

Mississippian Boone Limestone of NW Arkansas and NE Oklahoma. Tanyard Creek and Tar Creek :
The objective of our project is to apply the concepts that we have learned in our class to investigate the geologic processes, which have formed the rocks in the region, and also to learn the relevance of understanding the role of karst features in ground water and surface water systems.
